1) Consent to Device Permissions (Camera, Microphone, Photos)
By creating an account and using interactive features, you may be asked to grant access to your device camera, microphone, and/or photo library to join live sessions, complete safety check-ins, identity or age verification, or to share content.
- Access is optional and consent-based. We will never access your camera or microphone without your active permission via your browser or device prompt.
- You can withdraw permission at any time in your device or browser settings; this may limit access to certain features.
- We may request (but cannot force) a live check-in or verification selfie if concerning activity is reported. Refusal may result in restricted features or account suspension.
2) Identity & Age Verification; No Guarantee
To promote safety, FixMyRelationship may implement identity/age verification (e.g., selfie checks, ID document checks, liveness tests). Verification reduces risk but does not guarantee a user’s identity, background, or intentions. You agree to provide accurate information and lawful documentation when requested and acknowledge residual risk.
3) Moderation; Monitoring; Reporting
We aim to maintain a respectful environment and may review, filter, or remove content (messages, images, profiles) that violates these Terms. We may use automated tools and/or human review to detect abusive, harassing, illegal, or under-age content. We may suspend or terminate accounts, restrict features, or notify authorities where we reasonably believe there is a safety risk, fraud, or unlawful activity.
Users can report concerns via in-product tools. We may preserve records where required by law or to enforce these Terms.
4) Prohibited Conduct
- Harassing, abusive, threatening, or exploitative behaviour.
- Sharing illegal, non-consensual, or under-age content.
- Impersonation or providing false identity information.
- Bypassing safety or verification systems.
- Uploading malware or malicious code.
- Spam, scams, or unwanted commercial solicitation.
- Recording or disclosing someone’s private content without their express consent.
5) No Secret Surveillance
FixMyRelationship does not secretly activate cameras or microphones. All device access is initiated by you and requires your explicit permission. Any attempt to enable hidden surveillance is strictly prohibited and grounds for removal.
6) Safety; Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your interactions. Arrange first meetings in public places, tell a trusted contact, and stop any engagement that feels unsafe. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact 111 (NZ emergency services) first. You can also alert site moderators using the in-app report function or by emailing support@your-site.com (update this address).
7) Content & License
You retain ownership of your content. You grant FixMyRelationship a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, display, and, where you select sharing options, share with your chosen counterpart(s) solely to operate the service and enforce these Terms. You warrant you have rights to the content you upload.
8) Privacy & Data Use (Summary)
We process personal information (including verification imagery and metadata) in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data. We may retain records where needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution. See the Privacy Policy for legal bases, retention, data subject rights, and contact details.
9) Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, FixMyRelationship disclaims all warranties and will not be liable for: (a) user conduct or content; (b) identity misrepresentation despite verification; (c) loss of data not caused by our breach; (d) indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be excluded under NZ law.
10) Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators and moderators of FixMyRelationship from claims or damages arising out of your content, your breach of these Terms, or your unlawful conduct.
11) Enforcement; Suspension; Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or present safety risks. We may remove content at our discretion. We may restrict features pending verification outcomes or investigations.
12) Governing Law; Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Courts of New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 which are not excluded.
13) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the site or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
